Pacemakers Runners PH (“PaceMakers,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use the PaceMakers mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).
By using our Services, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
Depending on how you use the Services and which permissions you grant, we may collect the following information:
1.1 Account and Personal Information
When you create or use an account, we may collect:
Name or display name
Email address
Phone number, where provided
Profile information and profile photo
Authentication and account information
Information you provide when participating in events, challenges, or community features
You may also sign in using third-party authentication services, such as Apple Sign In. When you use a third-party sign-in service, we may receive the information that the service makes available to us according to your settings and that service's privacy policy.
1.2 Running and Activity Information
When you use PaceMakers to track or manage your running activities, we may collect:
Running distance
Pace and speed
Duration and elapsed time
Running routes and GPS coordinates
Workout and activity history
Running goals, plans, challenges, achievements, and progress
Event and challenge participation
Other information you voluntarily provide in connection with your activities
We use this information to provide running tracking, statistics, progress tracking, challenges, events, rewards, and other features of the Services.
1.3 Apple HealthKit / Apple Health Data
If you grant permission on iOS, PaceMakers may access information made available through Apple HealthKit (Apple Health).
Depending on the permissions you grant and the features you use, this may include health and fitness information such as:
Steps
Workouts
Running and walking distance
Other activity-related information made available through HealthKit
PaceMakers accesses HealthKit data only with your permission and only for purposes related to providing and improving the health and fitness functionality of the Services, including displaying activity information, tracking running progress, and maintaining workout history.
PaceMakers does not access HealthKit data without your permission.
You can control or revoke HealthKit permissions at any time through Apple's Health settings.
We do not use HealthKit data for advertising or marketing purposes.
We do not sell HealthKit data.
We do not use HealthKit data for purposes unrelated to providing or improving the Services.
1.4 Android Health Connect Data
On supported Android devices, PaceMakers may request access to health and fitness information through Android Health Connect.
Depending on the permissions you grant and the features you use, this may include information such as:
Steps
Exercise and workout activity
Distance
Speed
Heart rate
Sleep-related information
Calories
Other health and fitness information for which you grant permission
Health Connect information is used to provide health and fitness functionality within PaceMakers, such as activity tracking, progress tracking, workout history, and related features.
You can manage or revoke Health Connect permissions through your Android device settings.
1.5 Location Information
If you grant location permission, PaceMakers may collect location information, including GPS coordinates, to provide location-based features such as:
Tracking running routes
Recording running activities
Providing local weather information
Showing nearby running events or activities
Supporting location-based features that you choose to use
Location access is subject to the permissions you grant through your device.
PaceMakers does not access your location when location permission has been denied, except where otherwise permitted by the operating system and applicable law.
1.6 Calendar Information
If you choose to add PaceMakers events to your device calendar, the app may request calendar access.
Calendar access is used to allow you to add running events and related event information to your calendar.
We do not use your calendar information for advertising or unrelated purposes.
1.7 Camera and Photos
If you choose to use features that require your camera, PaceMakers may request camera or microphone permissions.
Camera access may be used for features such as taking or updating a profile photo or other user-initiated content.
We only access the camera or microphone when the relevant feature requires it and you grant permission.
1.8 Device and Technical Information
We may automatically receive certain technical information when you use the Services, such as:
Device type and model
Operating system and version
App version
Device identifiers where applicable
IP address
Diagnostic and crash information
App usage and technical logs
This information helps us operate, maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Services.
2. How We Use Your Information
We may use information we collect to:
Create and maintain your account
Provide and operate the PaceMakers Services
Track runs, workouts, activity, and progress
Display health and fitness information that you have authorized us to access
Provide running plans, challenges, events, achievements, and rewards
Provide community features such as groups, chats, and leaderboards
Provide location-based features
Add events to your calendar when you request it
Improve the functionality, performance, and reliability of the Services
Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized activity
Protect the security of users and the Services
Communicate with you about your account, activities, events, and important service updates
Send promotional communications or partner offers where permitted and where you have not opted out
Comply with applicable laws and legal obligations
We use information only for legitimate purposes connected with providing, maintaining, securing, and improving the Services.
3. Health and Fitness Data
Health and fitness information obtained through Apple HealthKit or Android Health Connect is treated as sensitive information.
We request access only to the health and fitness information necessary to provide features that you choose to use.
You control whether PaceMakers can access your HealthKit or Health Connect information through the permissions provided by your device.
PaceMakers does not sell health or fitness information.
PaceMakers does not use health or fitness information for advertising or marketing purposes.
Where applicable, health and fitness information is used only to provide, maintain, and improve the health and fitness functionality of the Services.
4. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share information in the following limited circumstances:
Service Providers
We may use trusted third-party service providers to help operate the Services, including providers for:
Cloud hosting and data storage
Authentication
Analytics and diagnostics
Communications
Payment processing, where applicable
Infrastructure and technical services
These providers may process information only as necessary to provide services to us and are expected to protect the information they process.
Events, Partners, and Rewards
If you voluntarily participate in an event, challenge, promotion, or reward program, certain information may be shared with event organizers, partners, or merchants when necessary to administer that activity.
We will not share health information obtained through Apple HealthKit or Android Health Connect with event partners or merchants for advertising or marketing purposes.
Legal Requirements
We may disclose information when required by law, legal process, court order, or governmental authority, or when reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety, property, users, or Services of PaceMakers.
5. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, maintain your account, fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and comply with legal obligations.
When information is no longer reasonably required, we may delete or anonymize it in accordance with our data retention practices.
6. Your Rights and Choices
Under the Philippines' Data Privacy Act of 2012 and other applicable laws, you may have the right to:
Request access to personal information we hold about you
Request correction or updating of inaccurate information
Request deletion of your personal information, subject to applicable legal requirements

Apple Health permissions
Location permissions

Revoking a permission may prevent certain PaceMakers features from functioning.

When you request account deletion, we will take reasonable steps to delete or anonymize information associated with your account, subject to information we are legally required or permitted to retain.
8. Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.
However, no method of transmission or electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your information.
9. Children's Privacy
PaceMakers is not intended for children under 13 years of age.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without appropriate authorization, we will take reasonable steps to delete that information.
10. Third-Party Services
The Services may integrate with or rely on third-party services, including Apple services, Android services, authentication providers, hosting providers, analytics providers, and other service providers.
Your use of third-party services may also be subject to their respective privacy policies and terms.
We encourage you to review the privacy policies of third-party services that you choose to use.
11. International Processing
Depending on the services and infrastructure used to operate PaceMakers, your information may be processed or stored in locations outside the Philippines.
Where required by applicable law, we take reasonable measures to ensure that personal information transferred to other jurisdictions receives appropriate protection.
12. Updates to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our Services, technology, legal requirements, or privacy practices.
